Susha and SuMay live just down the road from me here in North East London. They are a really terrific couple, and when they asked if I would photograph their civil partnership I felt totally honoured to share in such an amazing day. I’ve photographed gay and lesbian weddings before, but this was to be my first Anglo-Chinese Lesbian Wedding! Wow, what an incredible day.
The Civil Partnership Ceremony took place at the charming William Morris Gallery in Walthamstow, East London. It had those classic ingredients – laughter, tears, heart felt readings. Then later at the reception, held at Orford House Social Club, their friends and family really pulled together to create a beautifully decorated room which set the scene for the Chinese Tea Ceremony, a special ceremony where the couple serve their family tea and in return they are presented with gifts and their blessing, and later, the Lion Dance – Awesome!!
Congratulation to you both! Let me share a sneak peek at some of the photographs from your collection.
Oh and can you spot the sea horse? Surely, a sign for long life, happiness and good fortune for your life together. 🙂
